Hello Doctor Zhong; Twelve months today we were travelling on a plane going to see Kate's parents and family. Do you remember that ? Today, in 1992, instead of travelling in an aeroplane to see you, I have a letter from you with some photographs, so I am happy. Look at Xiao Ai, how beautiful she is already, and look how much she has grown since I last held her on my knee. When I looked at the photographs for the first time, I said to myself, 'She looks like Sheng's father'. Do you think so ? She certainly looks very happy with so many toys to play with, and so many friends to listen to her singing. I think that having Xiao Ai in your home, must make your home very happy too. If I call you Uncle Sheng will you also buy me an icecream ? It was quite a surprise to see how much Xiao Ai has grown, for it is only twelve months since I last saw her. I dont know what I was expecting to see, for I still remember her as a small baby... silly me!
I am not very happy when you tell me that you spend all your day playing! Half a day for playing is quite enough, and in the other half of the day you should be studying your English, or learning more about Chinese medicine, or helping out in the hospital or doing some other work to help the people in your community. You are still very young, and very strong, and very healthy, so you must use all these things, to do some good, while you can. Perhaps you could make a list of some of the very old people in your town, who cannot go out for walks and meet other people. You could visit them once a week to talk with them for half an hour, which would make them very happy. If you went to see the , 'I agree with you' man, then you would not even have to talk, he would do all the talking for you.

Of course, now that you have the copies of the examination papers to answer they should keep you quite busy. You will have to think very hard to answer the questions correctly. Travelling By Mini-Bus To Different Places.
So it was not a truck nor a bus but a mini-bus or taxi! When the neighbours walk past your home and see the mini-bus outside, they must say to themselves, 'The Zhong family must be very rich to be able to buy such a beautiful mini-bus.' I am sure that Hong must be very happy when he is driving it to different places, for he will be seeing new things, and meeting new people, when he is travelling to towns and villages that he has never visited before. Please tell him that I send my best wishes that his business will make a lot of profit, and that I hope he will always remember to drive carefully, so that he does not have any accidents. I am looking forward to the day when he can pick me up at the station in PingXiang, to drive me back to Longzhou for my third visit.
When I saw the photograph of your friends playing cards in your room, I thought the room looked very tidy, for it is much tidier than my room. I wonder who made it so tidy looking! Is the boy playing cards Jiang. whom we met in the market at XuiKuo? He looks very like him, although I only met him for a few minutes , so perhaps I am mistaken. The camera was such a wonderful invention, for a photograph can record a moment in time for us to remember in later years. When I am in bed, before I go to sleep, I often look at the photographs in my albums of my 1990 visit to China. The photographs bring back so many happy memories, that it is difficult to put the albums away, and go to sleep!
