* * * China Town Tongmu Summary * * * October, 1995 Problems Of Increased Traffic On Chinese Road On the road was the steam roller we had seen working at the junction, just four vehicles in front of us, so it seemed that resurfacing work was not the cause of this traffic jam. Traffic in 1995 had increased in substantial numbers since my first visit to China in 1987. In many ways, a narrow Chinese road, particularly in a rural area, is not able to cope with such an increase. I had a similar experience as this one when traveling with some friends in a minibus on a Chinese road, from Ping Xiang town towards a Chinese-Vietnamese border crossing.
