Twisted Pine Trees And Yellow Earth Of Dalian Mountains
Dalian Tiger Beach was left behind as we took a taxi for the coastal journey to another bay to visit Constellation Square. We were soon crossing the "Friendship Bridge" but did not realize at the time how soon we would be back there to admire the view, and to take some photographs. From the bridge, the road rose sharply to meet one of the many hair pin bends in the Sea Coast Road which provides many wonderful views of mountains, enhanced by yellow earth and twisted pine trees, and on this particular day, a calm blue sea sparkling in the sunlight.

We decided to walk back towards the bridge and there we were lucky to pick up another taxi, to continue our journey.

A Selection from Robert's Wild Cards
| The start of these personal webpages and the Vietnam pictures, followed a chance meeting with a young man named Hoang in 1979. Hoang was one of the "Boat People" from Vietnam who arrived in the UK. In due course I was given the responsibility of teaching him some English. A few weeks later I met his family and friends, and subsequently their families and friends, and friends and families, of friends and families.... and so it was that the ideas for the personal webpages began. |
